After defeating New Mexico last week in Tempe, the No. 34-ranked Sun Devils will head out on their first conference road trip of the season to Salt Lake City to take on No. 39 Utah.

ASU is fresh off a win at home as the team defeated New Mexico 4-1. The Utes are also fresh off a win after defeating BYU 4-3,helping Utah capture the Desert Fuel.

Utah is currently 17-2 while the Sun Devils are 11-6 on the season. Of those 17 Utah victories, 10 of them came at home, where the team is currently undefeated. Not only are the Utes undefeated at home, but they’re also on a three-match win streak.

ASU freshman Andrea Bolla is on a win streak of his own. Bolla is currently undefeated since February 17th at San Diego. After clinching the win against New Mexico on Saturday, his win-streak improved to six.

Another Sun Devil with the spotlight on him would be senior captain, and two-time Pac-12 Player of the week, Michael Geerts. He’s won 11 of his last 12 matches after a slow start at the beginning the year of 0-3 to kick off the preseason against ranked teams.

The Sun Devils have seemed to be improving their doubles play since the beginning of the season as they’re 6-4 in clinching the doubles point in their last 10 matches. ASU head coach Matt Hill has touched on about the importance of clinching the doubles point ad-nauseam because of the lead it gives early in the match.

ITA Tennis team rankings were released earlier this week with ASU in the same No. 34 spot the team occupied last week and with Utah falling to No. 39 from No. 37.

First serve is set to take place on Saturday, March 31st at 12 p.m. MST in George S. Eccles Tennis Center.
