Anthony Robles becoming an actor, too?

More big news is on the horizon for wrestler Anthony Robles. Just this time, it won’t be on the wrestling mat or on a book tour.

The Arizona State alumnus said that he will be working on a scuba diving documentary film with U.S. Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin in the spring.

“It’s been a pretty neat year. All these new things happen and I just feel very blessed,” Robles said. “You know I’m having fun and it’s something new and exciting every day. It all came from wrestling back at Arizona State.”

The film, The Current, is being produced and sponsored by Make a Hero Foundation, and Robles and Franklin will be learning how to scuba dive in the Bahamas. Paralympics swimmer Mallory Weggemann and surfer Bethany Hamilton will also join the two athletes in the film. Weggemann will join Robles and Franklin in the Bahamas while Hamilton is going to be swimming with whales.

“It’s going to be a fun event and show an adaptive [version of] scuba. Obviously I’m missing a leg and Mallory is a Paralympic swimmer so it’s going to be a fun time,” Robles said.

They will start the filming in March but nothing has been disclosed on when the film will officially be released.

Robles is already a Hall of Fame wrestler, an ESPN commentator, an author and a motivational speaker. He will soon be adding actor to that list of accomplishments.
