Arizona State is in unfamiliar waters as they take on the Big 12 on the golf course for the first time this week.

The Sun Devils, who are back in Texas after playing in Fort Worth last week, will be joined by Josele Ballester fresh off an appearance on the DP World Tour for the program’s first Big 12 Match Play. Fifteen teams from the conference head to The Clubs at Houston Oaks golf to take on one another in a three day tournament stretching from Oct 7-9.

The Clubs at Houston Oaks Golf Course is a breathtaking par-71 course.

Last week at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Arizona State finished 5th led by Connor Williams and another impressive week for Freshman Peer Wernicke. They will be regaining Ballester’s talents and it should give them a boost.

Summerhays, who is ranked number one in the PGA Tour U ahead of Ballester, will give Arizona State one of the deadliest top-two in the field.

Arizona State, which was in the Pac-12 for 45 years, now finds itself playing some familiar foes like Colorado while treading new waters playing programs like Oklahoma State and Kansas.

With a strong start to the season Arizona State could make a splash in their inaugural Big 12 appearance and continue their blazing pace.
