No. 19 Arizona State wrestling (4-4) will be looking for its third straight victory when the Little Rock Trojans (3-7) visit Mullett Arena for a 7 p.m. dual on Friday that’ll serve as ASU’s return home after two impressive road wins over No. 23 Stanford and No. 12 Lehigh the last two weekends.
Sophomore Kyle Parco and senior Michael McGee have been ultra-reliable wrestlers for the Sun Devils at 149 and 133 pounds, respectively, with a combined 28-6 record this season.
Looking for his 125th career win, McGee will likely face Trojans sophomore Josh Sharpy in a seemingly lopsided match — Sharpy is 5-12 — while Parco expects to meet junior Joseph Bianchi.
Redshirt freshman Cael Valencia has started and won ASU’s last two duals in the 174-pound weight class, which included an upset win over Stanford No. 23 senior Tyler Eischens, but Little Rock’s highly-touted 174-pounder, junior Triston Wills, has presents a solid 13-6 record.
Regarding the Sun Devils’ ongoing competition in the 125-pound division, senior Brandon Courtney notched his 99th career win after getting his team’s last start — though sophomore Richard Figueroa still boasts the longest undefeated streak to start a career in ASU history (17-0). Either of the two will be expectedly set against Trojans sophomore Jeremiah Reno, who is 12-6.
Junior Tony Negron will face junior Tyler Brennan, looking to build off a win last weekend at Lehigh.
No. 5 sophomore Cohlton Schultz will square off against sophomore Josiah Hill, whose resume is marked by two pin victories and a ranked upset win.
