The Arizona State women’s basketball team will look for a bounce back opportunity when they take on the California Golden Bears at home on Sunday.
The Sun Devils were handed their first home loss of the year by the no. 13 ranked Stanford Cardinal. ASU hung with their opponents for the entirety of Friday’s game, but were put away in the last two minutes.
ASU has continued their trend of different players stepping up during different games, and have spread out its scoring well. Senior forward Sophie Brunner led the charge with 15 points in Thursday’s game.
Cal comes into Sunday’s matchup ranked no. 21 in the country and will put an undefeated 13-0 record on the line.
The Golden Bears won their Pac-12 opener by double digits against Arizona, and have several notable wins, including a victory over no. 20 Oklahoma.
Cal is led by senior forward Courtney Range. Range was named to the 2016 Naismith watch list and averages 14 points per game, good for best on the team.
The two teams met three times last year, the Sun Devils going 2-1. Cal upset ASU in the 2016 Pac-12 Tournament.
Sunday’s matchup will tip at 3:00 MST and will be broadcasted on Pac-12 Networks.
