The Arizona State women’s basketball team started strong and never looked back, demolishing San Jose State 82-37.

ASU opened the game on a 16-0 run, looking unstoppable in the first five minutes of play.

The Sun Devil pressure defense forced the Spartans to play completely out of sync, disrupting their flow on offense.

ASU refused to give up open looks, forcing their opponents to shoot a dismal 13-percent from the field at the end of the first period of play.

However, the Sun Devils were white hot in the first quarter, shooting 73-percent percent from the field.

Turner Thorne continued her mass subbing strategy, playing all 13 of her players in the first eight minutes  alone.

Desperate to slow the Sun Devils, San Jose State switched to a 2-3 zone to open the 2nd quarter.

The change was happily welcomed by the Sun Devil sharpshooters on the floor.

ASU shot a blistering 56-percent from beyond the arc, adding to the arsenal of advantages the Sun Devils had over the Spartans in this matchup.

Nine different Sun Devils scored in the first half of play with Senior Kelsey Moos leading the attack, scoring eight points on 2-4 shooting.

ASU held a stark advantage on the glass in the first 20 minutes, out-rebounding San Jose State 27-15.

The Sun Devils picked up right where they left off to open the 3rd quarter.

After four quick Spartan points, the Sun Devils responded with a 16-0 run, their second of the game.

San Jose State countered with a full court trap that ended up being shredded by the guard play of ASU.

The Sun Devils continued to ride the ship into the fourth quarter, transitioning into a half court offense and slowing down the tempo.

Turner Thorne relied on her bench in the fourth quarter of play, sending out four freshmen on the floor at one time.

ASU refused to let up, showing no signs of slowing down and closing out the game on top 82-37.

Up next, Charli Turner Thorne and company travel to Milwaukee, Wis. to take on Marquette Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. .
