After only one season with the Arizona State volleyball program, Stevie Mussie’s tenure as head coach has come to an end.

“Sun Devil Volleyball Coach Stevie Mussie is no longer with the program,”  ASU Vice President for University Athletics Ray Anderson said in a statement. “We will launch a national search immediately for her successor. Sanja Tomasevic will act as interim head indoor volleyball coach with Brad Keenan continuing to serve as head beach volleyball coach.”

In her one season at the helm for Arizona State, Mussie led the team to a 12-20 overall record and a 5-15 conference record.

ASU officials would not make any other comments on the situation.

Tomasevic was brought into the program as an assistant coach when Mussie was hired.

Mussie came to Arizona State after serving as an assistant coach for two years at Penn State, under the tutelage of the Nittany Lions head coach Russ Rose.

Both Mussie and Tomasevic played at Washington and won a national championship with the Huskies in 2005. Tomasevic has also been an assistant coach at Miami and Texas-San Antonio.
