Former Arizona State Softball head coach Trisha Ford has agreed to terms with Texas A&M to become the Aggies’ next head coach, as first reported by Rounding Third Softball late on Monday night.

“After spending time with [Texas A&M Athletics] and talking about their vision for the program, it was clear our values aligned,” Ford said in Texas A&M’s press release. “You can feel the pride and tradition that runs through Aggieland. My family and I will embrace it and I can’t wait for us to become a part of the community.”

Ford was the head coach of the Sun Devils for six years and was named the Pac-12 Conference Coach of the Year twice, earning her most recent honor this past season. Ford amassed a record of 212-89 through her six seasons and won the Pac-12 outright for the first time in 2022. Her team’s 20 conference wins in 2022 set a new program record for most conference wins.

Many of the players currently on ASU’s roster were recruited by Trisha Ford. Although no moves had been made, it wouldn’t be out of the question to see some movement in the program going forward.

“Sun Devil Athletics has started its nationwide search to find a new head coach for Sun Devil Softball,” Sun Devil Athletics said.
