According to Travis Branham of 247Sports, Arizona State Men’s Basketball junior forward Jalen Graham has entered the transfer portal. The decision is a surprise, especially considering the impact Graham had on this year’s team.
Graham’s contributions through his first two years at ASU were minimum. The 6-foot-9 forward only averaged 5.3 points per game, 3.7 rebounds and 0.4 assists. Graham saw action in 49 games and earned a spot in the starting lineup 21 times.
This season, Graham took a major leap. He had a career year and was arguably the Sun Devils’ best player. Graham increased his points per game to 9.9 and started in 22 of 29 games. Graham emerged in the second half of the season and at one point strung together multiple double-digit scoring efforts.
The second half of the season was where Graham’s performance improved drastically. Through the final 19 games of the season, Graham averaged 12.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Graham’s late season play earned him a spot on the Pac-12 Conference’s All-Conference’s second team.
According to Devils Digest, Graham is seeking a “transfer to another power five program,” instead of a professional career overseas.
