Arizona State Men’s Basketball has postponed yet another set of games.
It was announced Tuesday that this week’s road trip to both Colorado and Utah has been delayed due to COVID-19 issues within the Sun Devils’ program, according to a statement released by Sun Devil Athletics.
The halt in play comes after ASU picked up back-to-back victories at home against Cal and Stanford. The Sun Devils have only played five conference game – the lowest amount in the Pac-12. This also marks ASU’s fifth postponed of a conference game this season.
Just as things were looking up for the Sun Devils, stagnation ensues once more. Head Coach Bobby Hurley and his team are no strangers to waiting this year, and they’ll have to wait nine more days for their next scheduled game against Oregon on Feb. 11th.
March 1-6 will serve as a period for ASU to make up previous postponements and the ones this week, according to the release.
“Arizona State has and will continue to make every attempt possible to play previously postponed games,” the statement read. “Versus Utah (Dec. 22 and then Feb. 2), at Washington (Dec. 29), at Washington State (Dec. 31) and at Oregon (Jan. 14).”
It would be welcoming for the Sun Devils to not lose the momentum gained during their last home stretch. ASU showed some promise in its last two games thanks to a lineup change by Hurley. The Sun Devils improved drastically on the boards because of it, and team defense took a step forward.
