According to multiple reports, Oregon offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham will be the next head coach of Arizona State Football.
Dillingham is 32 years old, making him the youngest head coach in Division I FBS. In 2022, Dillingham served under Oregon head coach Dan Lanning, who was 35 years old when he was named the Ducks head coach. The experience Dillingham gained while serving under Lanning in his first season in Eugene could serve the newly hired head coach well, as he will be in the same situation in 2023.
It is believed Dillingham will be the first head coach that was born in Arizona.
It is also presumed he will be the first ASU alum to serve as head coach.
Dillingham was an offensive assistant at ASU from 2014-15, ranking 13th in the nation with 34 passing touchdowns. Before his stint with the Sun Devils, Dillingham was a coach at Arizona high school, Chaparral, where he served as a quarterbacks coach from 2007-12 and the offensive coordinator in 2013. The Arizona native also served as the offensive coordinator at Memphis (2018), Auburn (2019) and Florida State (2020-21).
