Former Alabama quarterback Blake Barnett committed to Arizona State on Monday after announcing his intent to transfer.
Barnett – the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2015 ESPN 300 – committed to Alabama following his senior season at Santiago High School in Corona High School.
He was the top-rated pocket passer in the 2015 class and the second quarterback prospect behind Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray.
Barnett appeared in three games this season, completing 11 of his 19 attempts for 219 yards and two touchdowns.
After redshirting his freshman year, Barnett was replaced by Crimson Tide quarterback Blake Simms.
He will have three years of remaining eligibility and will need to sit out the first four games of the 2017 season.
