As Arizona State Lacrosse prepares for its final home game of the season, the time has come to celebrate its seniors.

After a major conference win against the UC Davis Aggies, the Sun Devils are back on the hunt for a win. After having a rough time offensively the last few games, ASU was able to get back on track with 16 goals in the first half alone. Overall, three Sun Devil junior attackers scored three or more goals in the game. Jordyn Behar with three, Lydia Oldknow with five, and Teagan Ng with six. Each of them also had one assist.

Looking forward to their senior night game against the San Diego State Aztecs, the Sun Devils are once again playing more of a familiar face. The history of the two teams points towards ASU being more inclined to win. The Aztecs have a losing record against the Sun Devils, with three losses to their five wins. When the teams have faced off in Tempe in the past, the Sun Devils have an undefeated record against the Aztecs, 3-0. SDSU is also 0-3 in the conference while ASU is 2-1.

There are a handful of seniors who have made a bigger impact on Sun Devil Lacrosse than others. Like the team captains, Berit Brookfield and Anna Thornton. As well as Katie Vahle, who has broken numerous records this season alone.

Berit Brookfield (C)
The Colorado native has been at Arizona State for four years. Up until this point, Brookfield has started in 42 of the 58 games she has participated in. After her junior season took a detour due to an injury, Brookfield returned to the team and was named one of the team’s two co-captains for the 2025 season. Previously, Brookfield was a midfielder who played on the offense and defense; however, for her senior year, she was moved to defense. At the end of her junior year she was one of the Sun Devils who made the Academic Honor Roll from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), which requires a junior, senior, or graduate student to have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Anna Thornton (C)
The attacker from New York has been at ASU all four years of her collegiate career. She may not be the team’s highest scoring offensive player, but she certainly does contribute plenty. During the 2025 season, Thornton has become one of the team’s regular and reliable offensive players. Starting strong her freshman year, her shooting percentage was .444, to her senior year, where she was named a captain and is the only senior on the team who has over a one-goal average per game. Like Brookfield, Thornton was also named to the Academic Honor Roll from the IWLCA during her junior year.

Katie Vahle
The goalkeeper from New York, like Brookfield and Thornton, has been at ASU for her entire collegiate lacrosse career. During her freshman year, she already stood out as a prominent figure. Starting in all 19 games for the Sun Devils that season, and being the first Sun Devil to be named Pac-12 defender of the week four times. Jump to her senior year, and Vahle has been named the Big 12 goalkeeper of the week twice and has broken numerous personal and ASU records. Becoming the all-time saves leader for ASU, reaching 600 career saves, achieving a career-high 18 saves in one game, and having one of the highest save percentages in the Big 12.
