ASU Baseball: Sun Devils picked to finish third in Pac-12 among coaches

The results of the 2021 Pac-12 Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll were released Wednesday and picked Arizona State Baseball to finish third in the conference.

The consensus No. 1 pick was UCLA, gaining all 10 first-place votes totalling 100 points.

ASU received 83 points in the poll.  The Sun Devils were ranked No. 10 in the nation by the USA Today Coaches’ Poll at the abrupt end of the 2020 season. The Sun Devils are ranked No. 15 in the Collegiate Baseball Preseason National Poll along with Arizona (No. 10) and UCLA (No. 3).

Arizona, ranked No. 19 in the USA Today Coaches Poll entering this season, earned the second-most votes totalling 85 points.

ASU will host Arizona in a three-game series on April 1-3 at Phoenix Municipal Stadium before heading to Tucson on April 6 for a single non-conference game. The Sun Devils will conclude their season welcoming UCLA to town May 27-29.

ASU will open up its season on Friday when they host the beginning of a three-game series against Sacramento State. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m. MST.
