The Arizona State baseball team is on the road again this weekend, traveling to Seattle for a three-game series against the Washington Huskies, after winning their midweek game on Tuesday against University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
The No. 15 Sun Devils wrapped up their non-conference home schedule in 2019 with the 9-2 victory over the Rebels, and now head north to continue Pac-12 play.
Washington is 18-17 this season, though they have managed to go just 5-10 in Pac-12 play thus far.
Washington is coming off a win against Portland earlier in the week, winning 8-3 with Mason Cerrillo and Connor Blair having three hits each. Rollie Nichols and Joe Wainhouse also contributed two hits each.
Arizona State’s offense rolls into Seattle on a good note, as Spencer Torkelson, Gage Workman, and Erik Tolman each homered on Tuesday against UNLV.
Recently, Tolman has begun to show his full potential as a two-way player for head coach Tracy Smith, hitting .333 in 30 at-bats while also leading the team in ERA at 1.46.
The Sun Devils only have five remain series left in the season and their overall record is 31-8 and conference record is 12-6.
The end of the season is drawing near, with only 16 games remaining for the Sun Devils, and the talk of a potential return to the College World Series for the first time in almost a decade gets more and more tangible with each win. The Sun Devils will begin the three-game series Friday, April 26 at 6:05 PM MST at Husky Ballpark.
