Redshirt junior safety Armand Perry took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce he is medically retiring from football due to various injuries.
Perry wrote in a note that last season, he dealt with turf toe and a torn labrum in his hip and shoulder.
“In my heart I know I gave my blood, my tears, and my passion to the game of football,” Perry wrote. “I would like to thank Coach Todd Graham for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to come play at ASU.”

Perry, a native of Las Vegas, finishes his ASU career with 108 tackles. He was expected to anchor a Sun Devil defense that hopes to improve on a season where it allowed the most passing yards of any team in the country. Perry’s retirement adds even more uncertainty for the ASU secondary as the 2017 season looms.
